Developing Applications and Automating Workflows using Cisco Platforms

Duration: 5 DaysAvailability: 50 PodsResources: 4 vCPU · 8 GB RAM

Overview

The DevNet Associate pod: write real Python against Cisco REST APIs, work with Git and CI, and automate device configuration, the hands-on foundation of network programmability rather than syntax slides.

Images included

  • A Linux dev host image with Python, Git and Cisco SDKs pre-installed
  • Cisco IOS-XE device images (IOSv/IOL) with RESTCONF/NETCONF enabled

Environment & resources

A Linux dev host with Python, Git and the Cisco SDKs pre-installed, wired to live IOS-XE devices and sandbox APIs so scripts run against real endpoints, not mocks.

Light pod · 4 vCPU · 8 GB RAM

Small topologies: a handful of routers or switches, or a single general-purpose server.

FAQ

Do I need to be a programmer already?

No. DEVASC (200-901) assumes basic scripting; the pod is built around a networking starting point.

Are the devices real or simulated?

Your automation runs against live IOS-XE devices in the pod, so RESTCONF/NETCONF behaviour is genuine.
